3 Installation

To successfully install Gnuastro you have to have the requirements already installed on your system. They are very basic for most astronomical programs and you might already have them installed. To check, try running the $ ./configure script. If you get no errors, then you already have them and you can skip Requirements. You can heavily customize your install of Gnuastro, to learn more about them, see Installing GNU Astronomy Utilities. If you encounter any problems in the installation process, it is probably already explained in Known issues. In Other useful software the installation and usage of some other free software that are not directly required by Gnuastro but might be useful in conjunction with it is discussed.
