3.1.1 GNU Scientific library

The GNU Scientific Library is probably already present in your distribution’s package management system. To install it from source, you can run the following commands after you have downloaded²⁴ gsl-X.X.tar.gz:

$ tar -zxvf gsl-X.X.tar.gz
$ cd gsl-X.X
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make check
$ sudo make install
