GHM — GNU Hackers' Meetings
The annual GNU Hackers' Meeting is a friendly and not-too-formal forum to discuss technical, social and organizational issues concerning free software and GNU. It is open to all people who have an interest in the GNU system and its goals.
History
GNU is a large and diverse organization involving many people from around the globe. Although it is a collaborative project, most of those involved "meet" only virtually. Some years ago some hackers had the idea to hold a real life meeting where ideas could be presented and to get to know each other face to face. The first GNU Hackers' Meeting, was in Spain in 2007, and was attended by about 20 people. The experience was repeated and improved the next year has since become a regular event. Slides and videos from previous meetings are available from their respective archive pages.
