GNU Miscfiles

This is a web page about the GNU Miscfiles package, which is a collection of files not of crucial importance for system administration or operation, but which have come to be common on various systems over the years. It includes data files for country codes, airport codes, currency information, and so on.

Downloading Miscfiles

Miscfiles can be found on http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/miscfiles/ [via http] and ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/miscfiles/ [via FTP]. It can also be found on one of our FTP mirrors; please use a mirror if possible.

For development sources and other information, please see the miscfiles project page at savannah.gnu.org.

Mailing Lists/Newsgroups

Miscfiles has one mailing list: <bug-miscfiles@gnu.org>.

This list is used to discuss all aspects of Miscfiles, including requesting new files to be added as well as reporting problems.

Announcements about new versions of Miscfiles and most other GNU software are made on <info-gnu@gnu.org>.

To subscribe to these or any GNU mailing lists, please send an empty mail with a Subject: header line of just "subscribe" to the relevant -request list. For example, to subscribe yourself to the GNU announcement list, you can send mail to <info-gnu-request@gnu.org> with no body and a Subject: header line of just "subscribe". Or you can use the mailing list web interface.
